Amin Abraham-Quiles | VOICE

Amin Abraham-Quiles received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a Master of Business Administration from Piedmont University. His musical training includes classical voice and piano, along with extensive experience in ensembles and musical theatre productions. He is also an accomplished songwriter and recording artist, known for original contemporary music that blends R&B, neo-soul, reggae, fusion, and pop influences. Mr. Abraham-Quiles regularly performs and connects with audiences through live-streamed concerts and music-focused video content on social media. He is an active member of the Piedmont University Pro Musica Choir and the Brenau University Gospel Choir.

Bjorn Anderson studied Double Bass Performance at Texas State University, where he trained with Dwight Shambley and Roger Fraterna of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. He also pursued studies in Electric Bass Performance at the Atlanta Institute of Music. His performance experience includes appearances with the Florida and New Mexico All-State Orchestras and performing with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at the Tanglewood Festival in Lenox, Massachusetts. In addition, Mr. Anderson has performed in hundreds of theatrical productions with the 14th Street Playhouse Company in Atlanta. He has been a valued member of the New School of Music faculty since January 2013.

Angela Anzai | PIANO

Angela Anzai earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Kennesaw State University, where she was awarded the Emmanuel Ax Piano Scholarship and the Steinway Society Endowed Scholarship. She began her piano studies at age seven in Atlanta, Georgia, and quickly developed a strong passion for performance. Ms. Anzai has received top ratings in local and statewide competitions, including those sponsored by the Georgia Music Teachers Association, Georgia Music Educators Association, and the Georgia Bach Competition. She has performed with distinguished artists and ensembles such as Lisa Kaplan of eighth blackbird, Simone Dinnerstein, Alisa Weilerstein, and The Ying Quartet. At New School of Music, she is dedicated to fostering musical excellence and expressive artistry in her students.

Yelena Ayzenberg | PIANO

Yelena Ayzenberg graduated from Rimsky-Korsakova College of Music in Mogilev, Belarus, where she received the Diploma o Nepolnom Visshem Obrazovanii. She also earned a Specialist Diploma in Culture and Education from the Kult-Prosvet College of Music in Mogilev. Ms. Ayzenberg is an accomplished pianist with secondary expertise in bayan (Russian accordion) and voice. She brings over 20 years of teaching and performance experience to her work with students of all levels. Ms. Ayzenberg has been a dedicated member of the New School of Music faculty since 2008, teaching both online and at the Buford campus.

Zane Brock | PIANO

Zane Brock holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Furman University, a Master of Arts degree from Western Carolina University, and an Education Specialist degree from Lincoln Memorial University. A retired Gwinnett County elementary school teacher, he brings decades of educational experience to his music instruction. Using a classical foundation blended with creativity and fun, Mr. Brock keeps students engaged while building strong musical skills. In addition to traditional piano instruction, he teaches keyboard chord theory, inversions, and lead playing techniques. Mr. Brock is also an accomplished five-string banjo player and offers banjo instruction for students from beginner through advanced levels.

Michael Carswell II earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies from Georgia State University, where he gained extensive performance experience in both jazz and classical settings. A saxophonist based in the Atlanta area, he has been playing since fifth grade and brings a broad musical background to his teaching. Mr. Carswell has worked with middle and high school programs, preparing students for LGPE evaluations, jazz band performances, All-State auditions, and marching band competitions. He is passionate about connecting with students on a personal level and believes music education should foster growth not only as musicians, but as confident, expressive individuals.

Chelsea Cline | VIOLIN

Chelsea Cline earned both a Bachelor’s degree and an Artist Diploma in Violin Performance from the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings, where she studied on a full scholarship. Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, she began playing violin at age three and later attended the Meadowmount School of Music. Ms. Cline has performed as concertmaster of her high school and All-State orchestras and was selected for the National Youth Orchestra of the United States in 2017. She currently performs as a substitute violinist with major regional orchestras and brings over eight years of teaching experience to her students. Ms. Cline is currently completing Suzuki Association Teacher certification.

Monica Corliss | VIOLIN | VIOLA

Monica Corliss earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Music Education and Violin Performance from the University of Georgia in 2020. She began her violin studies through the Suzuki method in Augusta, Georgia, and later continued her training in England using the ABRSM system. As a teenager, she performed with the City of Leeds Youth Orchestra and the National Children’s and National Youth Orchestras of Great Britain. Ms. Corliss has also participated in summer programs at the Brevard Music Center and the Heifetz International Music Institute. She currently teaches general music in Gwinnett County and enjoys helping students discover their individual creative voice.

Eric Denton | GUITAR

Eric Denton graduated from the Atlanta Institute of Music in 2002 and has been an active member of the Atlanta music scene since 1994. A versatile guitarist and educator, he teaches electric and acoustic guitar, including flatpicking, fingerstyle, and slide techniques. Mr. Denton also offers instruction in ukulele, electric bass, and mandolin, working with students of all ages and musical backgrounds. He has been a dedicated member of the New School of Music faculty since 2005. In addition to teaching and performing, Mr. Denton builds handmade cigar box and tennis racket guitars under the Denton Music name and releases original music on major digital platforms.

Kylie Groom Stacy | VOICE

Kylie Groom Stacy holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Central Oklahoma, following undergraduate degrees in Acting and Music from Oklahoma City University. A professional actor, teaching artist, and choreographer, she brings over ten years of industry experience to her students. Her performance credits include theaters and theme parks nationwide in productions such as Sweeney Todd, Titanic: The Musical, RENT, and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Ms. Stacy is passionate about storytelling that fosters social responsibility, hope, and healing. She currently serves as an adjunct professor at the University of North Georgia and Piedmont University.

Cara Jensen | VOICE

Cara Jensen is currently completing her Bachelor of Music Education degree at the University of Georgia. Throughout her studies, she has taught students ranging from preschool through adulthood across a variety of instruments. Ms. Jensen has sung with the internationally recognized UGA Hodgson Singers as well as the Georgia State University Singers and brings over a decade of vocal experience to her teaching. She is passionate about healthy vocal technique across musical styles and enjoys helping students develop creativity through songwriting. At New School of Music, Ms. Jensen teaches voice, guitar, and piano, creating individualized curricula that emphasize confidence, musical growth, and a positive learning environment.

Nicholas Knox earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance with a concentration in Piano from Piedmont University in 2022 and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Arts and Education Studies while completing his teaching certification through MTNA. He began playing piano at age eight and developed a strong interest in classical and church music. Mr. Knox is an active church pianist at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Mableton and Mount Zion Baptist Church in Clarkesville, Georgia. His teaching philosophy emphasizes individualized instruction, safe and effective technique, and a wide range of repertoire. He is committed to helping students of all ages develop a lifelong love of music.

Seth Kuehn brings over twenty years of teaching experience across public, private, and collegiate institutions to his work as a saxophone and clarinet instructor at the New School of Music. His students have earned principal chairs in All-State ensembles, participated in European performance tours, performed at major venues including the Metropolitan Opera, and gone on to careers in music education. As a performer, Mr. Kuehn has appeared with organizations such as the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta Ballet Orchestra, Alliance Theatre, and National Public Radio, and has collaborated with a wide range of renowned artists across classical, jazz, film, and popular music. Outside the studio, he remains active in the metro Atlanta music community.

Nicholas Lane holds a performance degree from Georgia State University, where he developed a strong foundation in both classical and contemporary music. He also completed advanced training at the Army School of Music, further refining his musicianship and professional performance skills. As a member of the 116th Army Band, Mr. Lane brings extensive real-world ensemble and performance experience to his teaching. Specializing in tuba and trombone, his instruction emphasizes strong fundamentals, musical expression, and confidence on stage. Mr. Lane works with students from beginning through advanced levels and is dedicated to helping each student grow into a capable, expressive, and well-rounded musician.

Christine Lansou | VIOLIN | VIOLA

Christine Lansou earned a Master of Music Education degree from Georgia State University in 2008, following her Bachelor of Music Education from Loyola University New Orleans. She began playing violin and viola over forty years ago and has dedicated her career to music education and orchestral leadership. Ms. Lansou founded the first orchestra program in the Archdiocese of New Orleans before relocating to Georgia in 2000. She served for nineteen years as Orchestra Director at North Gwinnett High School and brings extensive experience preparing students for All-State, honor orchestras, youth symphonies, auditions, and collegiate music programs. Her teaching blends multiple methodologies tailored to each student’s goals.

Wanbing (Jennifer) Luo holds degrees in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Georgia, where she earned multiple academic and performance awards. She teaches students of all ages and levels, many of whom have received top honors in competitions and festivals. Ms. Luo has held leadership roles within the Music Teachers National Association and has presented at national conferences. In addition to teaching, she is an active church pianist and performs for community events. Passionate about lifelong learning, she enjoys exploring diverse music, maintaining an active lifestyle, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Brenda Mora | VIOLIN

Brenda Mora is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Music with a concentration in Performance at the University of North Georgia, following academic studies in Musical Arts at Universidad de las Artes in Ecuador. She began studying violin at age six at the José Luis Paz Conservatory in Maracaibo, Venezuela, as part of El Sistema, and performed with leading youth orchestras including the Sinfónica de la Juventud Zuliana Rafael Urdaneta. After relocating to Ecuador, Ms. Mora worked as a violin teacher and served as concertmaster with regional symphony orchestras. Now based in Georgia, she teaches violin to students of all ages, offers beginner viola instruction, and performs with Gwinnett Symphony Orchestra.

Emily Nicolich | VIOLIN

Emily Nicolich studied music at Berklee College of Music, where she developed a strong foundation in jazz and contemporary styles. Trained in the Suzuki method from a young age, she later became a Suzuki-certified instructor and brings over fifteen years of teaching experience to her studio. Ms. Nicolich has played violin and viola for more than thirty years and has toured Europe twice as a performer. While classical music remains her foundation, she has also performed with award-winning folk rock bands, country artists, and jazz and hip-hop ensembles. She is passionate about helping students build technique, versatility, and a lifelong love of music.

Rachel O'Dell | VOICE

Rachel O’Dell, soprano, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Shorter College in 2001 and a Master’s degree in Music Education from the University of Georgia in 2007. She has taught special education, preschool music, and middle school chorus and now balances her musical career with homeschooling. Ms. O’Dell has performed numerous lead and supporting roles in community musical theatre and sang with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus for twelve seasons. She is currently in her fourth season with the Gwinnett Symphony Chorus and brings extensive choral and educational experience to her teaching, fostering musical growth, confidence, and expressive singing.

Mr. Fausto Ojito holds a Technical Degree in Music Performance from the Escuela Distrital de Artes (E.D.A.) in Barranquilla, Colombia, and studied Music and Music Education at Universidad del Atlántico. He has been teaching guitar and percussion since 2002 and joined the New School of Music faculty in 2018. A two-time Latin Grammy Award nominee, Mr. Ojito is a seasoned performer across Latin, rock, blues, and world music styles. His professional work includes extensive experience as a producer, session musician, and band member for numerous international artists. He continues to perform actively while sharing real-world musicianship with his students.

John Pagano earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music from Five Towns College in New York and has built an international career as a touring guitarist and bandleader. Fronting the John Pagano Band, he has toured since the age of eleven, earned three Independent Blues Awards, and reached #1 in U.S. Blues Rock airplay. Mr. Pagano has been recognized by TrueFire as one of the “100 Guitarists You Should Know,” is endorsed by Epiphone, and is a voting member of the GRAMMYs. With over thirteen years of teaching experience, he specializes in improvisation, music theory, and musicianship, guiding students toward both professional and academic success.

Brian Roach holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Georgia, a Master of Music degree from Texas Tech University, and dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Music and English from the University of Connecticut. He began studying violin at age eight and has since built a diverse career as a performer and educator. Mr. Roach has performed with orchestras including the Augusta Symphony Orchestra, Lawrenceville Symphony Orchestra, Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, and West Texas Symphony. He has participated in music festivals across the United States and internationally in Ireland and Italy. As a teacher, he works with students from beginner through advanced levels, emphasizing strong technique, beautiful tone, and the development of each student’s individual musical voice.

Rick Smith earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Church Music and Music Education from Shorter College, where he received extensive training in piano, voice, and choral conducting. A co-founder and Director of New School of Music, he brings over thirty years of experience as an educator, conductor, and arts leader. Mr. Smith serves as Music Director of the Gwinnett Symphony Chorus and is Director of Music Ministries at Johns Creek Christian Church. At New School of Music, he teaches piano, voice, and conducting, and is deeply committed to cultivating musical excellence across all ages and levels.

Robert Trocina holds degrees in Instrumental Conducting from Georgia State University and Music Performance from Kennesaw State University. He is a co-founder and Director of New School of Music, where he also teaches trumpet and conducting. Mr. Trocina brings over thirty years of experience as a conductor, performer, and arts leader. He serves as Artistic Director of Gwinnett Symphony Orchestra, Music Director of The Georgia Ballet, and Artistic Director of Atlanta Community Symphony Orchestra, and serves on the Board of Directors of the International Conductors Guild. His conducting and performing career spans performances across the United States and internationally in Canada, Germany, Ukraine, Denmark, Belgium, Holland, and Sweden.

Mariel Uzal earned a Master of Music degree from the University of Georgia, following a Bachelor of Music degree from the Juan José Castro Provincial Conservatory of Music in Argentina. She brings over thirteen years of teaching and performance experience to her work as a pianist and educator. Ms. Uzal has been a dedicated member of the New School of Music faculty since 1999, teaching students online and at the Lilburn campus. Her teaching emphasizes strong musicianship, technical development, and a supportive learning environment that encourages artistic growth and confidence.

Preston Wilhite earned a degree in Music Education from Georgia State University, where he distinguished himself as a trumpet performer and emerging educator. During his undergraduate studies, he performed extensively as a soloist and ensemble musician throughout the Southeast. Mr. Wilhite has also demonstrated strong leadership in arts administration, serving as Manager of the Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony. In addition to performance, he has worked as a trumpet instructor with local middle and high school programs. Passionate about the transformative power of music, Mr. Wilhite is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of musicians through strong fundamentals, musical excellence, and meaningful educational experiences.

David Wilkes earned a Master of Music degree in Clarinet Performance from Kent State University, following a Bachelor of Music degree in Clarinet Performance from Auburn University. He brings extensive teaching and performance experience to his studio, having lived and taught in the Nashville area for fourteen years. Mr. Wilkes previously served as an adjunct woodwinds instructor at the University of the South in Sewanee and has performed as a substitute clarinetist and bass clarinetist with the Nashville Symphony. He currently teaches beginning band in Johns Creek and performs regularly with regional ensembles. Mr. Wilkes has been a member of the New School of Music faculty since 2018.

Cade Wilson | PIANO

Cade Wilson holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Georgia, where he studied under Professor Evgeny Rivkin. He is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree in Performance and Pedagogy at UGA, further developing his skills as both a performer and educator. In addition to solo performance, Mr. Wilson is an active chamber musician, collaborating regularly in recitals through the Hugh Hodgson School of Music, UGA’s Chamber Music Society, and faculty recitals at New School of Music. He serves as Member at Large for UGA’s collegiate chapter of the Music Teachers National Association and recently presented research at the 2024 MTNA National Conference. Mr. Wilson is dedicated to helping students discover their individual musical voice and achieve their full potential.

Lisa Youngquist | FLUTE | PICCOLO

Lisa Youngquist earned her degree from the University of Oklahoma and completed advanced flute studies at the University of North Texas. She brings over twenty-five years of teaching experience to her studio, having taught private flute lessons throughout Oklahoma and Texas to students ranging in age from six to seventy. Many of her students have earned placements in district and state honor ensembles, with several pursuing music professionally. Ms. Youngquist is especially skilled at diagnosing technical challenges and helping students overcome obstacles to reach their full potential. Now based in the Atlanta area, she remains an active performer with regional ensembles while fostering a positive, supportive learning environment for her students.
