Wes Freeman is a professional musician with over 30 years of guitar, vocal, and other instrument experience in numerous settings: from for-profit to non-profit, public to religious sector, service industry to teaching, commissioned compositions, leading and playing in bands and ensembles, gigging, videos, weddings, and more. He has been spotted in everything from Facebook live to professional studio recordings on a variety of guitars (acoustic, electric, classical, bass), vocals, and other instruments (keyboard, ukulele), on a wide range of genres and styles including classical, pop rock, jazz, country, covers, wedding music, to name a few. Wes’s insatiable curiosity about the inner workings of music theory, along with his cross training in modern and classical styles, gives him a unique passion for bringing a fresh perspective to classic tunes. He received his BA in music composition and guitar from Asbury College, and continued his studies at The Atlanta Institute of Music where he completed the guitar musicianship program with honors. He has been teaching steadily since 2001. When teaching, Wes endeavors to chart a course for each student that, as much as possible, is congruent with their personality and interests as well as providing encouragement for the difficult aspects of developing musical skill. In his free time, Wes enjoys spending time with his wife and pet bird. You might even find him playing an old Nintendo game or two in between gigs.
