Josh Barron has been performing for the last 11 years on euphonium and trombone in the metro-Atlanta and Athens area. As a graduate of the University of Georgia, he has studied under David Zerkel, Matthew Shipes, and Philip Smith, former principal trumpet of the New York Philharmonic.
Some of the notable ensembles he has performed in include the: University of Georgia British Brass Band, Redcoat marching band, Georgia Brass Band, and the Georgia Music Educators Association All-State band. Along with classical music, he has a background in jazz performance and improvisation and has performed with multiple bands in the metro-Atlanta and Athens area.
