Mr. McConnell graduated Cum Laude from James Madison University with a major in Music Education. After serving eight years as an instrumentalist/soloist with the Army Ground Forces Band, he left active duty to teach in the DeKalb school system but continued his military music service in the 530th Air Force Band which he served as commander/conductor and musician.
