Troy is a graduate of the New England Conservatory. He has been a piano/voice teacher and professional musician for 15 years. He has served as music director/organist at several churches and is currently the music director at Oak Road Lutheran Church in Lilburn, GA. Troy is actively involved in community theater and has music directed many shows. He was thrilled to win the 2018 NHTA best musical director award for his work on Hunchback of Notre Dame. Troy took his first piano lesson at the age of 5. His passion for music blossomed when he started studying with a teacher who embraced his love for rock, jazz and improvising. Troy works hard to understand each student’s goals and to build a plan that will help them discover their joy for making music. He loves to bring music to life using stories, metaphors and examples from his own childhood experiences with music. While mastering an instrument takes commitment and discipline, Troy truly believes the journey of learning to "speak" the language of music should be a fun-filled and exciting process.
