Yelena Ayzenberg, Piano, Voice
Ms. Ayzenberg graduated from Rimsky-Korsakova College of Music, Mogilev, Belarus and received the “Diploma o Nepolnom Visshem Obrazovanii”. She also received a Specialist Diploma in Culture and Education from Kult-Prosvet College of Music, Mogilev, Belarus. Ms. Ayzenberg has over 20 years of teaching and performance experience and she joined our faculty in 2005.

Joey Baggett, Drums & Percussion
Joey has taught and performed extensively on a wide variety of styles ranging from Jazz & Rock to Country & Rudimentary Drumming. He attended Truett McConnell & Gainesville Colleges for his education, and later taught at the Atlanta Institute of Music. Joey started teaching at NSM in 2001.

Anne Anderson, Violin, Viola, Beginning Piano
Ms. Anderson has intensely studied to teach the violin and also studied at Gwinnett Technical College for a specialized degree. Ms. Anderson primarily draws from the Suzuki approach and integrates music history, international classical studies, music theory and ear training into her teaching. She also incorporates fiddle and ethnic teaching styles. While Ms. Anderson specializes in young beginners, she accepts students of all ages. Her goal is to teach students strong practice techniques and help them develop a love for music as an art form.

Eric graduated Atlanta Institute of Music in April of 2002. His experience includes teaching private lessons to beginner and advanced students in guitar technique and music theory. He also performs regularly at local venues. Eric enjoys all styles of music but particularly excels in Rock -N- Roll.

John Pagano has received his Bachelor’s degree in Music from Five Towns College in New York. John, also known as JP Blues, has been touring the East Coast for the past 10 years working with various popular artists. He has also been voted one of Truefire.com “Top 100 Guitarists You Should Know.” His latest CD “I Will Not Go Quietly” was rated “Top 100 Blues CD’s of 2011” for radio airplay. John has been teaching music close to 10 years.

Debra Fulton, Clarinet, Bassoon
Ms. Hogg received a Bachelor of Music Ministry from Ozark Christian College. As a music major, she studied clarinet at Pittsburg State University as well as piano, bassoon, and other woodwinds. She directs and actively assists with the music at her church including the youth orchestra and woodwind quintet. Ms. Hogg has taken lessons on multiple instruments since third grade and has performed in numerous community bands and orchestras since seventh grade.

Billy received a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree from Shorter University in 2011. He is an accomplished pianist and vocalist, having performed in many different settings including symphonies, jazz bands, theater, and his church.

Bjorn Anderson, Double Bass, Cello, Guitar, Piano
Mr. Anderson studied at Texas State University in Double Bass Performance with Dwight Shambley and Roger Fraterna of the Dallas Symphony. He also studied Electric Bass Performance at the Atlanta Institute of Music. He has performed with both Florida and New Mexico All-State Orchestras and with the Boston Symphony at the Tanglewood Festival in Lenox, MA. His other professional experience includes hundreds of theatrical performances with 14th Street Playhouse Company in Atlanta, Ga.

Lauren graduated Cum Laude from Shorter College with a Bachelor of Music Education. She is an energetic teacher of both piano and voice who uses positive reinforcement and carefully lays a solid foundation of music theory for each student.

Ms. Sampson earned a BA in Music from University of Georgia, a M.Ed. in Music Education from North Texas State University and a Certificate of Conducting from University of South Carolina Conductor's Institute. Kristine has served as a church pianist and choral director. She is certified to teach Suzuki Violin Books 1-4 by the American Suzuki Institute. Kristine has taught music in public schools for over 30 years. For the past 12 years she has taught in Gwinnett County Public Schools, and most recently has been Director of Chorus and Orchestra at Parkview School. She loves teaching children of all ages, and currently works at our Buford store.

Robert Trocina, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Conducting
Mr. Trocina received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Kennesaw State University and completed further studies at Georgia State University. He studied orchestral conducting under Thomas Wubbenhorst, Patricio Cobos, William Fred Scott and Steven Byess, and trumpet/brass performance under Mark Hughes, Jim Thompson and Stephen Winnick. Mr. Trocina is co-founder of New School of Music (1997), Music Director and Conductor of Gwinnett Symphony Orchestra (1997), and Music Director and Conductor for Northeast Atlanta Ballet (2008).

Rick received two Bachelors of Music in both Education and in Church Music from Shorter College. He co-founded New School of Music in 1997 and continues to own and operate 3 locations in NE Atlanta. Rick is a music minister at his church and is also the choral conductor of the Gwinnett Symphony Chorus.

Teodora Stoyanova, Flute, Piano
Ms. Stoyanova received her Bachelors and Master degrees from the National Academy of Music in Sofia, Bulgaria. Teodora equally enjoys teaching and performing. As a soloist and chamber musician she has toured Europe. After moving to USA she has performed with the Atlanta Flute Ensemble, ‘Aulos Winds’ & DaSalo Solisti Chamber Orchestra. She is principal flutist of Gwinnett Symphony Orchestra. Her teaching experience of over 15 years includes all ages and levels, from beginners through professionally trained adults.

Jake Haggard has been teaching private drum lessons for various organizations for the last 8 years, including a year spent in Arizona with a non-profit on the Navajo and White Mountain Apache reservations. He attended the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media and has 9 years of live performance and studio recording experience. He has been actively gigging professionally here in Atlanta since moving to the area in 2013.

Diana Peoples, Piano, Voice
Diana Peoples holds a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale as well as a Master of Music and Doctorate of Musical Arts degrees in piano performance from the University of Texas at Austin. She has received a number of honors and awards. These include being a two-time winner of the Missouri Music Teachers Association state piano auditions and the Ruby and Enos McClure award from the Missouri Federation of Music Clubs. She was also a featured soloist with the Southeast Missouri Symphony Orchestra and the Southern Illinois Symphony. As a student at the University of Texas at Austin she was active as soloist, accompanist, chamber musician, teacher, and served as the musical director of St Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Austin, TX. She has previously studied with such artists as James Sifferman, Mona Smith, Heidi Williams, Elaine Greenfield, Danielle Martin and David Renner.

Cortney studied music at Berry College and has been playing the violin for over twenty years. She has played in both orchestral and contemporary band settings. She uses a custom blend of classical methods catered to what best suits each student. She is also well versed in teaching vocal lessons, having done so for many years. Cortney is also the children’s minister at her church in Flowery Branch.

Craig received his Bachelor of Music degree from Georgia State University with a dual concentration in Music Education and Orchestral Performance and he holds a Master of Science in Educational Technology from Nova Southeastern University. He has over 18 years experience in music education as a band and orchestra director at the elementary, middle and high school levels. He is the founding director of the Atlanta Youth Jazz Orchestra and has served as guest lecturer for the University of Tennessee Music Education Department. As a trumpeter Craig has toured internationally with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, performed with Natalie Cole, Four Tops, Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the Atlanta Symphony and been a guest artist at the Montreaux Jazz Festival.

Dr. Thomas Wubbenhorst, Percussion, Drums, Conducting
Dr. Thomas Martin Wubbenhorst returned to metropolitan Atlanta in June 2015 where he joined the faculty of the New School of Music, became the founding music director and conductor of the Gwinnett Symphony Wind Orchestra, and became a part-time instructor of conducting at Georgia State University’s School of Music. Dr. Wubbenhorst is known throughout the United States, Canada, and South Africa as a conductor, clinician, composer, and percussion educator. He was an Associate Professor of Music at Georgia State University from 1991-2000 where he was chair of orchestral studies, director of university bands, and coordinator of instrumental conducting studies, and an Adjunct Professor of Music at the University of Maine from 2002-2015 where he was director of percussion studies, conducted the Percussion Ensemble, and taught applied percussion, music fundamentals, and conducting.
